CARFAX Canada draws upon billions of records from thousands of sources across North America to produce detailed vehicle history reports that can include information such as major accidents, frame and structural damage, service and inspection records, previous repair estimates and costs, theft, open recalls, registration information, and more.
Access to Vehicle History Reports
CARFAX Canada Vehicle History Reports can be viewed on any units for sale via the Vehicle Details Page and are accessible for up to 180 days within Auction Centre on any units purchased. A fee of $37.60 (and $57.60 within B.C.) will be applied ONLY upon purchase of a vehicle. Please note that if you have a VHR subscription with CARFAX Canada, it DOES NOT apply to vehicles in IAA Canada’s auctions.

Simply put, CARFAX Canada supplies the most comprehensive vehicle history report available in Canada. The fact that the vehicle you are interested in comes with a CARFAX Canada report means that you can be confident in the integrity of both the vehicle and in IAA.
Any stock that is non-branded or repairable will include a report, except for any product classified within the following categories:

Farm Equipment

Your CARFAX Canada unlimited VHR subscription is intended to provide your business with the history for vehicles that you appraise on trade or purchase outside of auction platforms.
As part of the wholesale auction experience, we order a new vehicle history report on every consigned vehicle. The report fee is only charged once upon purchase of the vehicle.
For a consistent operational experience, and to ensure the most current information, auctions order a new vehicle history report for every vehicle consigned on wholesale auction platforms.
The VHR recovery fee allows the auction to provide buyers the convenience of accessing and reviewing a vehicle’s history prior to the vehicle being auctioned. Every available vehicle history report is viewable and only charged once upon purchase of the vehicle. There is no opt-out option.
You will only be charged once per vehicle. In fact, we have lowered the cost of a CARFAX Canada Vehicle History Report from $50 to $37.60 (and $57.60 within B.C.) Effective immediately, the cost of ownership transfers will be $95 as a result of an increase in costs.
