How Does Vehicle Value Work?
Vehicle Value’s predictive model is built on historical data and specific vehicle attributes, comparing similarly equipped and geographically located vehicles. The data are input into a machine learning model to produce a vehicle’s predicted value. Multiple variables outside of vehicle make/model factor into estimating an auction vehicle’s value; types, degrees of damage, and much more.
Vehicle Value builds its predictive model with the following algorithmic inputs:
Historical Data – like vehicle sales
Vehicle Attributes – vehicle specs and equipment
Vehicle Information – including type, airbags, odometer, engine type, and much more
Geography – like markets with similar conditions
Damage Type – collision, fire, theft, water, other
Primary/Secondary Damage – location and/or damage type
Market Activity – bidder counts, number of runs
IAA Vehicle Score™ Data – vehicle condition score based on IAA’s proprietary computer vision-enabled damage matrix
