Summary

Steve Muscarello, SVP and Chief Commercial Officer at IAA, spotlights our CAT Response Team efforts after Hurricane Laura.

What a summer this has been. Challenging for all of us certainly, but still packed with hope and the promise of great things to come.

Let’s start off with a challenge that IAA is helping to alleviate. Hurricane Laura made landfall August 27 near the Texas-Louisiana border as a devastating Category 4 storm. It was the second strongest hurricane ever to hit Louisiana. Our CAT Response Team began following Laura closely as it formed, then strengthened. We were ready to respond exactly when and where our customers needed us most. Currently, IAA’s CAT Response Team is working hard transporting and checking in storm-damaged vehicles. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone in the areas of impact.

Which brings me to our latest Catastrophe Response Strategy Brief on Vehicle Merchandising. Because you are a valued customer and most likely have a keen interest in what goes into our industry-leading catastrophe response, we’re giving you a sneak preview of the brief. This is the fourth and final brief. Previously we covered Real Estate Capacity, Operational Execution and Transportation Logistics. After you read this latest brief, I’d love to hear your thoughts on the series.

Now on to something really fun! IAA Brand Influencer Rich “Rebuilds” Benoit is featured in a recent Car and Driver Magazine article. Rich talks about how he got started rebuilding cars and what he has been up to lately. Make sure you check out his YouTube channel, which began with rebuilding a Tesla he bought from IAA. Connecting with brand influencers like Rich and highlighting those relationships through social media is another avenue that expands our buyer base. Check out our social channels, and follow us too. Great stuff!

As a technology company, IAA is constantly working to provide the most advanced information security and governance to our customers and buyers. IAA recently brought on Andrew Albrecht to serve as our Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer. Andrew brings an impressive track record that will allow enhanced protection of IAA’s intellectual property, while optimally securing IT and business resources.

Finally, we offer an update on regulatory matters affecting our customers and our industry. This regulatory installment highlights bills affecting titling under surety bonds; electronic signatures for titles, assignments and motor vehicle registrations; and requirements for dealer records around title applications.

Here’s to a great fall season! As always, thank you for your business. Stay safe and healthy and I will be in touch again soon.
