The Importance of Vehicle Inspections

Confident bidding and buying through the auction process starts with vehicle assessment. An independent third-party vehicle inspection through our partner CarInspector.US provides buyers with extensive information to prep you for bidding. Learn more about why vehicle inspections are so valuable for buyers and how you can request one via IAAI.com

Additional State Licensing Requirements — Wisconsin

Wisconsin requests additional requirements for bidders and buyers to obtain a Salvage Buyer Identification (BID) Card and/or Buyer's License (Endorsement) Car to bid on vehicles in that state. The process of receiving these cards is simple and inexpensive. We have provided a list of Wisconsin's additional licensing requirements and the necessary contact information to ensure you are fully compliant. A copy of your card(s) will need to be emailed to IAA Customer Support at cservice@iaai.com to bid in the state of Wisconsin.

Women’s History Month

March is Women’s History Month, and IAA is taking time to celebrate women, reflect on our past, and examine our future. Leaders, pioneers, trailblazers — women are and always have been essential to paving a path forward for generations to come. This is especially true for the women of IAA.

Jeanene O’Brien, Senior Vice President of Global Marketing and Communications

I’ve been with IAA for nearly 13 years and in the overall claims industry for over 20.  My role is focused on creating a positive, strong IAA brand.  That requires communicating to our clients when products launch, processes changes, new auction channels are created, or a new facility is opened.  My goal every day is making sure our buyer and seller customers feel they have the information they need to do their jobs, and that they want to do business with IAA.  I work with an amazing team of individuals who are customer obsessed.  They tirelessly work to know our customers, the industry, our products and services, our branch structure, etc.  I’m always excited to see women progress and grow in this industry and work hard to be a springboard for growth.  If I can help guide a fellow female, offer an opportunity, show them a path or propel them up the ladder – I will absolutely do it.  I’ve had the great benefit of amazing female mentors and colleagues who helped me learn and grow.  So as a female, we should all be “paying it forward.”

ChromeData

Buyers must be able to assess every vehicle from the time it was built — not just in its current condition. ChromeData details provide 300+ data points and technical specifications to give you the necessary information from the vehicle’s initial build. This can be accessed on inventory pages by clicking “More Vehicle Information.”

ChromeData is part of our IAA Interact™ platform that is revolutionizing the salvage auction industry and giving you the necessary imagery, information, and personalization to be confident with your purchase.

Buyer Newsletter Voice Of The Customer

We listen to the feedback we receive from buyer surveys and use that information to improve products and services. Below is a highlight from your most recent responses.

Digital Search

This section consistently receives the highest volume of your feedback. Your responses in February noted an increasing amount of customers are using the IAA Buyer App and overall are pleased with the improvements to the Vehicle Search page. We have also noted your responses regarding some bugs within the app when searching, and we’re working diligently to correct those issues.

We are happy to announce three user experience improvements within Vehicle Search:

  • The addition of ‘Date Picker’ option in the Auction Date filter.
  • Clicking ‘Back to results’ on the Vehicle Details page will take you back to the stock you were researching within your search results list.
  • Selecting the ‘Featured Filter’ option will also automatically select the same filter in the left column.

  • COVID-19 Update
    • IAA remains dedicated to ensuring the health and safety protocols of both our customers and staff. IAA will continue requiring face coverings to be worn by all employees and visitors at all IAA locations in all states. Please read our latest update regarding mask mandates at IAA branches.
